a friendly yellow trail runs through the whole of dresden like ariadne’s thread. the yellow ends of the pillars along with the yellow banners and the yellow signs on the ground convey an identity that’s both confident and unpretentious. the slim pillars are a striking feature of the system, helping to capture attention. decentralisation is the wayfinding system’s underlying principle. four different levels of information are categorised by pillars of varying heights. their curved surfaces can be read from several different directions.
