invited competition, not realized

the atrium of the “city lounge”: for the pillars of the city lounge and the pillars of the inner foyers – two apiece – LEDs create an appealing effect, which can be dynamic or static, while conveying advertising, information and wayfinding guidance. with its luminous pillars the city lounge accentuates the prestige ambience of the venue’s entrance. lighting effects and communication become an integral component of the architecture. artists can use the LED pillars for lighting installations. changing lighting effects are a strong signal, defining the venue’s identity.

the signage system does not interfere with the architecture – it blends in, without being subordinate. the pillars seem to become immaterial, at one with the architecture.
