simple designs might be said to fall out of nowhere: when you walk into tuttlingen‘s district council offices, you find yourself in a large hall from which you can access all the other spaces. From the middle of the hall, you can see almost every potential destination – all the various departments, lined up alongside and above one another. all they needed was labeling, in letters big enough to be legible from the hall below. and there it was, the finished design, out of nowhere. all we had to do was pick it up.
