organic optics – im brückle
visual identity
gerlingen, 2025
welcome to “im brückle” [english: little bridge] the volz family‘s organic winery now into its third generation. here they still make their own sausages, lovingly bake their own bread, cultivate their own vines and produce their own wines. No less hand-made is the unique, unconventional typeface we designed for “im brückle”. that was after we helped find a new name for the winery: what was weinbau volz became “im brückle”. This charming new moniker takes up the official designation of the local sub-district and makes a ubiquitous tag for the many different products: apple juice from brückle, plaited loaves from brückle, quince jelly from brückle.
the typeface appears on the product labels in a variety of sizes, set above and alongside one another, giving rise to a balanced and vibrant organic-style optic. each series of products is also assigned its own colour, so that the shelves of the volz family’s farm shop now put you in mind of their orchards, packed with colour and diversity – holding up a mirror to nature.
